A new environment, an upgrade or a recurring fault. I start with what the system needs to support.
Hardware procurement and server installation
I specify and source hardware, mount and cable servers, and configure storage and virtualization. Capacity, dependencies and how the equipment will be maintained all belong in the same conversation.
Business networking and failover
Switches, routing, VLANs, firewalls and VPNs. I design the network around how it will be used, configure redundant connections and test what happens when a link goes down.
Backups, monitoring and IT operations
Monitoring, patching, backups and recovery are part of the system. I trace recurring faults and work through how failures will be detected and how recovery will be checked.
Cloud and infrastructure planning
On-premises first, with cloud services when they are the right tool. I consider costs, dependencies and operational control alongside the technical requirements.

My background spans 21 years in IT, from physical infrastructure to software and operations, including experience meeting CMMC Level 2 and ISO 27001 requirements.
Through Tez Capital, a collaboration between Berry Studio and GrokTech, I help build and maintain tools that Tezos operators run, with documentation, support and communications since 2021.
